FAQ

Which camp is right for my child?

Kids Camp programming is geared for kids entering 2nd grade thru ending 4th grade. They are led as a "bubble" through the entirety of the week by their counselor as a group. They sit together in the rallies, at meals, and all activities are done as a group. This really helps younger kids feel secure as they stay together with their group the whole time.

Amplify Teen Camp programming is geared for pre-teens and teens entering 5th grade thru graduating 12th grade. Many activities are done together like worship rallies and dining but there are activities that are also broken down to separate middle schoolers and high schoolers such as some team comps, some sensitive topic breakouts, and some night-time devotions.  We also do our best to house kids with their requested roommates, their church, and their age group. Counselors are very present with their group but teens are allowed more freedom to follow a schedule and choices to attend different offered breakouts. Teen camp worship experiences and messages are more intense and they are taught how to spend time alone with God in prayer and study.

If your child has just finished 4th grade or 5th grade,
the parent can choose whether their child attend Kids Camp, Amplify Teen Camp, or both! If your child is "young", maturity level, or has friends that would attend one camp or the other are factors that would help you determine the best fit for your child.

How do Early Bird rates work?

- The NEW Super Early Bird rate is a slightly cheaper rate than the regular early bird simply to get funds coming in in Jan/Feb which are are slowest, leanest times of the year for the camp. We are asking for those funds to be paid by 2/28 to get that extra discount.
- The regular Early Bird rate is good thru 4/30 so people have plenty of time to get a great discount! Again, registration must be paid by 4/30 to get that rate.
- Regular Registration - we never want to turn any one away from camp, even at the last minute, so will do our best to take registrations as long as we have space! The regular rate is for any one paying after the early bird discount ends beginning 5/1.
If your church is helping to pay for your registration, their funds must also be received by the deadlines to qualify for those rates. Ask your church about this.

Can my child have their cell phone?

No electronics, including phones, are permitted and here's why:
In today's world, our phones are the first thing we reach for in the morning and often don't look up from the rest of the day! At camp, we strive to refresh, renew, and ready our campers for what God has for them and can't do that with the distractions of the outside world. We make every effort to keep the campers engaged in activities and encourage them to have a wonderful camp experience and spiritual growth.
Campers truly find they enjoy the freedom from their phones and they almost re-learn how to have face-to-face conversations and connections with others. We also find that communications with home often promote homesickness rather than help!
We promise that should a need arise with your child,  you will be contacted by the Director. Should you have an urgent need to communicate to your child, the 24/7 phone to call is (410) 479-3361.
